• Lead iOS Developer, QuizUp

  QuizUp is a trivia game that first came out in November, 2013. Through its lifetime it has gotten over 30 million downloads on iOS and reached #1 in the Apple App Store of 11 countries. I was employee number 6 and after the company started to grow I took on the role of leading our iOS discipline which included 7 developers at its largest. My responsibilities as iOS lead included interviewing, hiring and training employees and leading our overall iOS architecture

  Our iOS mantra is test and automate everything. We have over 6000 unit tests that run in under a minute and fully automated pipelines (using fastlane) for testing, distributing test builds and submitting to the App Store. We went through two iterations of the app, the first one written in the game engine Cocos2D and the second one really pushing UIKit to it's limits. The current app is mostly Objective-C but all new code is now written in Swift.

  Jónsson & Lemacks is an ad agency in Reykjavík. I was doing full stack web development using Python, Flask / Django for the backend and for the front end I used html/css/javascript with libraries that were popular at the time such as backbone and coffeescript. Clients included local companies such as Landsbankinn, TM, 66 North, Thule, The Grillmarket and many more.
